Tray Former

Tray Former

The INMES Tray Former is a precision-engineered solution designed to automate the forming and sealing of corrugated or solid board trays. As the foundational component of many secondary packaging lines, our tray former delivers the structural integrity required for heavy-duty transport while maintaining the aesthetic quality needed for “ready-to-shelf” retail displays.

Advanced Forming Technology

Unlike standard folding machines, the INMES system utilizes a high-torque mechanical or servo-driven mandrel to press the blank through forming folders. This ensures that every tray is perfectly squared, with clean folds and secure bonds, even when working with high-speed cycles.

Operational Workflow

Blank Feeding

Flat tray blanks are picked from the high-capacity magazine via a vacuum suction system.

Glue Application

Precise beads of hot-melt adhesive are applied to the flaps using industry-leading applicators (e.g., Nordson).

Discharge

The finished tray is ejected onto the conveyor, ready to be loaded by an INMES Topload or Wraparound Case Packer.

Mandrel Pressing

The blank is forced through the forming section, where the sides are folded and compressed against the glue points.

Key Technical Features

Heavy-Duty Construction

Built with a reinforced frame to eliminate vibration during high-speed operation.

Tool-Less Changeover

Intuitive adjustment points allow operators to switch between different tray sizes in minutes.

Precise Glue Control

Integrated PLC software allows for millimetric adjustment of glue length and positioning, reducing adhesive waste.

Versatile Tray Styles

Capable of forming standard trays, trays with stacking tabs, or reinforced "display-ready" designs.
